Come Back to Me: A Miraculous Tale 2/2
Chat Noir climbed stealthily from rooftop to rooftop, doing his best to not be noticed. He wasn’t too worried, it was late and he had travelled this path many times. The streets appeared to be completely deserted. Still, it’s when you get too confident that things tend to go very wrong. He reached the balcony with a graceful landing. He peered down through the small skylight. The room below was empty, though he could hear the faint sound of a TV. It was coming from the floor below his target. Chat opened the skylight with ease. It wasn’t even locked. He landed soundlessly, his eyes taking in the room around him. Nothing had changed; it was all right where he last saw it. So was she. “Plagg,” his voice was just barely a whisper, “claws in.” Chat disappeared, leaving only Adrien and Plagg in his place. Plagg was about to say something, but Adrien shushed him. He handed a piece of Camembert to Plagg, who took off with it. Adrien turned his attention to why he was here. “Hello

Adrien Agreste awoke with a throbbing pain in his abdomen. He found himself staring up at a tiled-ceiling that he didn’t recognize. He sat up slowly, groaning as the pain spread to the rest of his body. The walls were an off-color white, the few pieces of furniture looked shoddy, and he was in a paper gown with a medical IV running into his arm. I’m in the hospital? What happened?! He slowly noticed the other bed that was a short distance from him. A body lay prone on it, multiple tubes running from their body into the machines next to it. It took a moment for his eyes to focus as he stared at the other patient. It was a she, about his age, with dark black hair and red freckl… Marinette? Adrien shot forward, throwing himself out of the bed. His legs buckled under him. Every part of him ached and he could barely hobble over to her. She laid there, lost deep in sleep. “Marinette?” he placed his hands on her shoulders, “Mari, please.” She lay so still that it looked like she wasn’t

“Are you sure you want this?” Dib asked for the tenth time.
“Yeah, I think I do,” Zim grabbed his old pack, sliding it onto his back.
“But why? This doesn’t seem like something you’d…”
Zim headed for the door, “All the more reason to do it. Besides, you agreed to my proposal, which was not something you’d normally do either.”
“Yeah, well, I still haven’t ruled out that you’ve been brain washing me this whole time.”
Zim smirked, “clearly not. That’s more Tak’s style then mine.”
“We both know that’s not en

Chapter 17
Dib made his way down into the hanger, stretching his swore muscles as he moved. He’d just spent the last six hours strategizing the first three rounds of invasion. Ever single step of the process: choosing the planets, invaders, landing locations, basic strategy. It was grueling and tedious… and Dib loved it.
It reminded Dib of when Zim had first arrived on earth. He had to plan and scheme in different ways to reveal the truth about Zim to the rest of Earth. This was that, but multiplied to a hundred. It was just so intricate and intense. And Dib was actually very good at it; it was the kind of deep thinking that he

Zim paced the length of the bridge, his mind lost in thought. Tak was clearly up to something, he was sure of it, and every minute that passed, she was more than likely to strike. Dib was stalking around the ship, just waiting for a chance to kill him. Not that he saw Dib as even the slightest of threats. Gaz was here, he should be riveted, but the way she’d looked at him… Zim sighed.
He kept replaying it in his head: the things she’d said, the way she’d cried, the way she felt in his arms. It was different now, she despised him, and he couldn’t disagree with her.
When did I become like this?! He cle

Zim adjusted his collar as he exited his room. He stared at the mechanical hands as they manipulated the collar. Of all the changes that came with being a Tallest, it was the robot hands that were the oddest. It seemed so fragile, with its tiny finger joints. And yet, he could crush steel in his grip without a single drop of sweat.
“My Tallest,” Zim turns his head, trying to find the source of that voice. The hall was empty. “My Tallest,” he looked around again. “Down here sir!”
Zim looked down, seeing Skoodge. “Sorry my friend, you snuck up on me.”
“It happens, sir. I’

Zim floated above the earth, staring down at the world that had been his prison, and yet, it felt like he was leaving home. This was probably the last time he would ever see this world. Gir was humming to himself behind Zim’s head, unfazed by the change in their situation.
Zim had taken the offer; he’d had no other choice. It was the only way to protect this planet. It was the only way to protect her… She’s going to hate me for this.
It was necessary, for both of them. He had considered taking her with him, whether or not she wanted to go with. However, that would put a target on her back, and Zim would

Zim turned the broken piston in his hand, not even aware he was holding it. His mind was miles away, back on that porch; back with her. It had been a week since that first kiss, but Zim could still taste her lips. He couldn't say what made his lips touch hers that night, but he wanted nothing more than to do it again. He couldn't cease the smile on his face, even if he wanted to. Zim dropped the piston when a loud screech filled the room.
“Incoming call,” Zim’s computer interrupted his thoughts. He didn't have to look at the screen to know who it was. They had called him every night this week. Some nights they c

Gaz awoke with a feeling that a great weight had been lifted off her. She hadn’t slept that well in months. A peaceful night’s sleep was not something done easily with her brother’s constant noise. He had been quiet last night, most likely due to pain from his injuries. Gaz let loose a sadistic smile as she remembered.
It wasn’t just the quiet that had caused her to have such a relaxing sleep. Gaz wasn’t entirely sure what caused her to feel so… free. It could have been the beating of her brother. She had been holding that anger in for quite awhile and it’s not surprising that the release

Chapter 3
Zim stopped at the entrance of the Demented Carnival, marveling at the pathetic technology. Everything was rusted and dilapidated. Zim was certain he’d get tetanus from just staring at this place, if he could get tetanus. This place wouldn’t draw the attention of a single Irkian. Kind of difficult to be entertained by tilt-a-whirls when you’ve travelled through the darkest parts of space.
And yet the Humans were flocking to this dump. It was another thing about humans that Zim had never understood. They all feared death, but then they ran towards it when it appeared before them. Zim just chalked it up to t
